Ideal for dust and debris removal on any hard surface floor, TrapEze can also be used clean high and hard to reach places, along with baseboards, moldings, ceiling fans, bookshelves, cabinets, radiators and lamp shades.
“Disposable dusting sheets prevent the cross contamination and are perfect for facilities with high hygienic standards like hospitals, physician offices and nursing homes,” stated John Miller, Amerio Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Disposable dusting sheets also reduce the cost associated with laundering traditional dust mops and the need to store unsightly soiled mops,” he added.

Washington, DC (April 10, 2017) - Green Seal, the nation's premier nonprofit ecolabel, is excited to announce that the first products certified to its Standard for Environmental Innovation (GS-20) are a complete line of floor-care pads from Americo Manufacturing Company. The certified products include all of Americo’s Full Cycle® Floor Pads, both abrasive and non-abrasive, which have been proven to offer enhanced biodegradation in landfill conditions and to contain 100% recycled content and natural fiber.
“Green Seal is delighted to have Americo’s Full Cycle® Floor Pads lead the way as the first products to earn GS-20 certification,” stated Arthur B. Weissman, Ph.D., Green Seal’s President and CEO. “The pads are a stellar example of what happens when sustainability, innovation, and performance combine in product design,” he added.
"With Green Seal being one of the most well-known and respected environmentally based certification organizations in our industry, Americo is proud to be recognized and awarded with their first GS-20 Environmental Innovation certification for our Full Cycle® floor pads,” stated Richard Rones, President of Americo Manufacturing Company.
In order to become certified under GS-20, Americo submitted an application to Green Seal describing its product line and the environmental benefits it claimed for validation. Green Seal examined these benefits in a life-cycle context and also determined whether the product line could be considered innovative, as defined by the standard.
Americo’s Full Cycle® floor pads are made with 100% recycled PET fiber or a combination of that and natural fibers. The company also uses water-based latex in the manufacturing process, avoiding phenolic-based resins. The pads have been tested by an independent lab to demonstrate that they biodegrade at a faster rate than conventional floor pads in a simulated landfill environment. The enhanced biodegradation helps to reduce landfill volume over time. In addition, this significantly shorter time frame allows landfills that have methane-to-energy collection systems in place to capture landfill gas and convert it to energy. Americo provides end-of-life instructions to the market for disposing of the pads in landfills that capture landfill gas and convert it to energy at www.americofullcycle.com/waste-to-energy.
The full list of criteria developed for this specific product group under the GS-20 standard and details on certification can be downloaded at www.GreenSeal.org. Additional information about the GS-20 standard itself can be found at www.greenseal.org/GS20.

Todd Spencer, Sales Director, Western USA – Commercial Division
Spencer joined Americo in 2014. During this time, he had multiple responsibilities that included directing business development activities to expand Americo’s sales opportunities and opening new distribution channels. In addition to his new role as Sales Director with a concentrated effort in Pacific, Mountain, and Upper Midwest states, Spencer will continue developing and driving key accounts to foster strategic evolution nationally. “Americo continues to experience such
an exciting and dynamic growth pattern all across the nation, and I am honored to be able to continue to be a part of it. I look forward to offering all within my assigned territory the concentrated attention it takes to promote and share our growth capabilities within the floor pad segment,” stated Todd Spencer, Sales Director, Western USA – Commercial Division.
Cameron Dunagan, Sales Director, Eastern USA – Commercial Division
Since 2013, Dunagan has served Americo in various capacities and has been responsible for working with sales representatives to develop sales and maintain current customer relationships. Most recently, Dunagan received a Sales Excellence Award for his superior performance in 2015. These advancements are an example of the company’s ongoing leadership succession process and efforts to cultivate top industry talent at Americo. “Healthy companies both retain top talent and implement leadership plans as a means to remain competitive. Todd and Cameron each have almost 30 years of combined industry experience, and these promotions demonstrate the value that Americo places upon the two individuals, their roles and the company’s overall continued advancement,” commented, Rusty Heinsman, National Sales Director.

Ohio State celebrated the milestone for the iconic mascot back in November 2015. OSU paid special tribute to former Brutus alumni, students and those who helped found their beloved Buckeye mascot. Americo’s very own Leonard Shutzberg was among those who were honored during the weekend events for his role as “Brutus” from 1979-1980.
All Brutus alumni were recognized during a sold out gala, held in the Archie M. Griffin Grand Ballroom in the Ohio Union. The event took on a story telling theme, with former Ohio State football player and Heisman Trophy winner, Eddie George as the narrator of the Brutus Buckeye story. Guests also heard Brutus tales told by alumni over the past fifty years. Nearly every student who has portrayed Brutus was on hand for the festivities. The fundraising event brought together sponsors, donors and supporters, along with Brutus alumni and those who have shaped the history of the mascot over half a century. All proceeds from the event went toward endowing scholarships through the Office of Student Life for students who perform as Brutus.
When interviewed, Americo’s Chief Executive Officer, Leonard Shutzberg (former Brutus 1979-1980) stated, “Prior to 1979, you had to try out for cheerleading to be selected as Brutus Buckeye. I spent 6 months going to cheerleading workouts and preparing for the cheerleading tryouts. I was horrible....I can assure you I came in last place! But when the guy that they asked to be Brutus declined the offer, Ohio State had a dilemma as this had never happened before. I went to Dick Delaney (former Associate Athletic Director OSU 1970-1984) and said you have a problem and I’ll solve your problem...let me be Brutus and promise to have separate tryouts for Brutus Buckeye going forward! It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.”
Those who’ve had the honor to represent Brutus know that it takes tremendous integrity, dedication and a positive mental attitude to carry the great legacy of Brutus—all qualities that make a great leader. Leonard Shutzberg, who’s still a nut, possesses all of those characteristics and more. “I’ve always said that to work in the cleaning supplies industry, it helps if you’re a little nuts, but Lenny’s experience as Ohio State’s Buckeye mascot takes being a nut to a whole new level,” snickered, Richard Rones, Americo President.
