Our Story


1969

Jim Rones begins American Manufacturing Company, Inc. in his home.

1975

American Manufacturing's first facility, located in the Chattahoochee industrial area in Atlanta, GA, was leveled by a tornado.

1976

After the tornado, American Manufacturing moved to Norcross, GA in Peachtree Corners Business Park.

1977

The first full nonwoven production line was installed.

1981

Purchased a larger manufacturing facility & office building in Acworth, GA.

1983

American Manufacturing Company opened an L.A. warehouse.

1984

American Manufacturing Company changes its name to Americo Manufacturing Co.

1986

Jim Rones' son, Richard Rones, joins Americo full-time, later to become President.

1992

David Rones, Jim Rones' son, joins Americo full-time, later to become President of the matting division.

1992

Americo Manufacturing launches the PromoMatting Division to serve the promotional products industry.

2000

Leonard Shutzberg joins Americo Manufacturing as CEO.

2001

Joe Tarantino joins Americo Manufacturing to later become Vice President of Operations.

2005

Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing, John Miller, joins Americo.

2007

Americo purchases the assets of Hanover Textile Graphics located in Wilmington, NC.

2007

Julie Charyna joins Americo Manufacturing as Vice President of Human Resources.

2009

Americo celebrates its 40th anniversary.

2010

Americo acquires additional facility in Cartersville, GA for the floor matting division.

2010

Americo purchases the assets of Pioneer Mat Company located in Chattanooga, TN.

2011

Americo purchases the assets of Custom Textile Printing located in Dalton, GA.

2012

Americo expands in Brazil with a local presence and own brand.

2012

Americo announces the acquisition of Shamrock Matting located in Chattanooga, TN.

2012

Americo launches a new corporate identity.

2013

Americo acquired the exporting business of Janex, Inc. based in Norwalk, CT. The business was relocated to Acworth, GA.

2013

Americo acquires strategic assets of Glit/Microtron.

2013

A new state-of-the-art production line is added.

2014

Americo introduces Full Cycle® floor pad line.

2014

Joel Gallimore joins Americo Manufacturing as Executive Vice President of Operations.

2014

Americo is named the preferred global supplier of floor pads to all ISS locations worldwide.

Americo wins ISSA's Innovation Award under the Supplies category for Full Cycle floor pads.

2015

Americo partners with Healthy Schools Campaign to support Green Clean Schools and promote Full Cycle.

Americo releases a new mobile app to streamline floor maintenance.

Americo launches a new, mobile responsive website.

Americo's Full Cycle® becomes the FIRST and ONLY Green Seal™ certified floor pads.

Americo announces a new floor restoration system, DiaMEND™ Screens.

Americo moved its West Coast distribution center into a new, larger warehouse facility in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Americo celebrates 50 years in manufacturing services for the Jan/San industry.
